Last night, i rent an Audi A8 (2006 4.2 Quattro) to see how it handles when abused a bit. And i accidentally made a small jump in a bridge. It's scary as hell, but it was fun, i felt like Frank Martin or something. Too bad i forgot to put dashcam in it.

Heck with your missing jump. I want to be able to rent an A8! If you can do it once, you can do it again.

I've never jumped my Crossfire. I jumped my Mustang and a Panther by accident though.

Heck, that rental place even has a maybach for god sake! I'll post about it when it's time to bring the A8 back.

Fortunately I have never had to jump start mine, but I have jump started my sister's ford escort, my family minivan ford windstar, and my dad's van ford econoline e350. all cars are model year 1999-2000 and only my car is newer chevy cobalt 2008. but soon that might change, sister's ford escort is too many different problems now. she is looking for a new car to fit her needs!

Yes. Never calculated. Never in a closed environment. 1st time was going too fast on an unknown dirt road, airborne over a crest only to see a power line pole in the middle of the road. My jeep was skidding sideways and barely stopped in time, probably should have rolled. 2nd time was in the mustang on a backroad. Nice take off, nice landing, still stupid thing to do.

When I was about 18 my buddies truck got hit and while it was in the shop he had a rental corrola. We ended up playing rally car with the rental and seeing how far we could get it to fly in the air. . . Not the brightest thing we did, but at least we did it when there was very little traffic and we used a spotter to make sure we had the traffic lights in our favor as we had him fly down the hill. Also we were super safe as the hospital was right up the hill from us if anything went wrong. The rental was returned with the suspension beat up and the undercarriage full of scrapes and dents as we were bottoming out and shooting sparks. . .

But I have not jumped one of my own cars, I wouldn't want to deal with that.

Yes. I jumped a ford tempo due to ridiculous intersection crowns. That was interesting.

I jumped a few rental cars and my old Tercel and Del Sol when I was in high school, but haven't jumped anything since. I might do a rally in October with some jumps if I can get the taller suspension and roll cage into my AW11 in time.

I got a rental Chrysler 300 about 4 or 5 feet in the air landing on the other side of a peak hill at 120 MPH. Jump length was two car lengths. It was one of the dumbest things I'd ever done but I don't regret it.

I hit an unknown railroad crossing way too fast and caught air on the other end (there was a pretty hefty drop on the other side), other than that I can't say I have. Most of my shenanigans involve getting it on three or two wheels. :D

Now rentals? I've jumped every rental I've ever driven (20+ of many makes and models) save for commercial truck rentals.

To this day, the 2008 Chevy Aveo5 remains the most impressive out of all of them. Absolute hilarity.

I inadvertently jumped a brand spanking new 08 Mustang...it didn't feel like I was going that fast & those railroad tracks never caused that before. Then again, the last time I went over the tracks @ that speed was in a 91 Grand Marquis soooo yeah....

Yes, I've jumped my car.

Back in 1998 or so, I had an 87 Mitsubishi Galant. Notice in this picture (not my car) how the top of the rear wheel arch is clipped? Keep that in mind while I tell what happened...

It was mostly for getting to and from school, and fucking around with my friends on the weekend. One night, I was driving down a dirt road, going about 40mph, and hit and unseen bump in the road. I caught a little air, and it was a blast! The landing ended up collapsing the driver's rear spring perch, and the tire subsequently scraped the inside of that clipped wheel arch, and smoked all the way home. Suspension problems aside, it was pretty badass.

I was also in a friend's Nissan hardbody pickup, tooling down a different dirt road, hitting the whoops way too hard, and put about 4 feet of air under the tires. All i could tell at the time was that the road felt different here, maybe we were in a patch of soft sand- BOOM! we landed. Hard. And simply kept driving, no harm done. I now believe that truck was carved from solid chunk of steel.

PS: My Mitsubishi had those exact wheels, and I love them! When my Galant stopped running, i cannibalized those wheels and put them on my '95 Honda Accord.
